Our Dual Pump Pack®
We use sump pumps as part of all basement and crawl space waterproofing systems. These remove water that has collected in a basin called a pit. A fully functional unit is an integral part of any waterproofing drainage system.
The way it works is water that enters the drainage system flows via gravity into the basin. As the basin fills a float automatically triggers and discharges accumulated ground water into the discharge line and then out to the appropriate drainage field.
When looking at purchasing a system, there are a few very important items to consider including:
1. For protection from flooding during periods of heavy rain, a dual system with a battery backup is the best protection. If you have just a single unit that relies on electricity to work if the electric goes out the basin can easily fill up and back flow. A battery backup kicks in if there is a loss of electricity which is common place during storms.
2. Basin or Pit - A quality basin should have a cover that is sealed. This prevents odor and radon from escaping.
3. Capacity - Both the pumps and the basin need to be able to handle all the water flowing into the basin in an effective manner. If your existing system can't keep up with the flow of water, flooding will occur.
Putting to work our 40 years of knowledge and experience we have developed the most effective and reliable system. Our system is patented and exclusively available to our customers.
A system that works
Dry Basement® Foundation Repair offers Dual Pump Pack® sumps, and it's the most important part of the NoWaterSystem®. Never again will you need to worry about whether or not you'll be able to make it through the next heavy rain. You'll never have to worry about coming your home to a wet and moisture-filled basement or crawl space. The system has two 1/3 HP cast iron, high quality AC pumps. If the main fails, the secondary will take over where the main one stopped. This take-over process is all automatic, and it will also set off an alarm to let you know that you are going to need to have the primary replaced or serviced.
All of the options are based in a square pit which is able to accommodate both units as well as the optional DC battery back-up and its battery that you will learn more about by reading below.
You can also have a DC battery back-up installed with this system. This will take over automatically during a power outage. It can move almost the same amount as the primary and secondary. A fully charged battery will be able to supply enough power to move over 11,000 gallons of water until the battery is completely depleted. When the power comes back on, the main will take over again and the back-up will be recharged to its full capacity.
These heavy duty units come with a 1/3 HP and a 1/2 HP AC pump with separate discharge lines. It's able to move almost three times as much water as a basic system.
